He marched into school in flamboyant white sneakers

He was wearied by the uniformity of black footwear

He craved for the free dress privilege teachers possessed

He needed the perfect finish to his ensemble

He wanted ease in preparation for PE class

He wasn’t deterred by detentions or verbal warnings

He did it for the student body

He did it for himself
